7:00 am to 8:30 am - Loco Moco prepared by The Crew (only serving the first 400!) 7:30 am to 9:00 am - Pound Off Challenge (invited teams only) 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (or until run out of mochigome) - Open to everyone to pound 10:00 am to 10:30 am - OCO Taiko Performance 10:30 am - Pound Off Challenge Awards 12:30 pm - Clean up
POT LUCK - everyone brings a main dish plus: A-G: Desserts, Fruits, Japanese desserts and cakes, Kuromame (黒豆) H-M: Salad, Veggies, Tsukemono, Kamaboko, Edamame N-R: Rice dishes, Sushi, Spam Musubi, Side dishes S-Z: Drinks ** Please try to bring traditional Japanese New Year foods to share with everyone! "Ozoni" (mochi rice cake) soup will be served during the event.

(serving the first 400!) * Watch the competition Pound Off Challenge and cheer on your favorite JA organization as they compete to see who can make the best kagami mochi. * You must have Nobuko-san's traditional ozoni. * And you must pound and make mochi if you want to have good luck for the New Year!!! *Don't miss out on this great family tradition!
This is your event! Don't wait to be asked to help out, do so like you would at your parents house! And if you are asked to help, do so with enthusiasm!
With that said, looking for a few volunteers to help on Friday to set set up from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Click here to sign up, only need 15 volunteers. Also on Saturday, need people to help turn the mochi. Click here to sign up. (the same link and page as the set up page). And on Saturday there are plenty of areas to help, run the mochigome to the usus, pound and form the mochi, empty the trash, keep the pot luck area organized, and clean up afterwards!!!! Just dig in!! |
