The 2019 (1st annual) Nikkei Games Fishing Derby was in full swing this past Saturday morning in Long Beach at Berth 55. Congrats to James Nakamura for doing a great job of chairing this family event! Thanks to Steve Fukuto of Berth 55 and all the Orange Coast Optimists members for their help in hosting a great event for the Nikkei Games. Thanks to Art Ishii, Ted Matsumoto, Glenn Tanaka, Howard Kunihiro of Nikkei Games and my kendo friends Jamie Inouye and Allyson Dong for volunteering to help with this event. The smiles on the children faces tell the story...it was great for the parents too! My thanks to Segawa-san of Lucky Craft Lures for donating some great lures as prizes too.
