OCTAGON CANNED FOOD DRIVE

Every year, the Octagon Clubs collect canned foods to make wonderful Thanksgiving Food Baskets for the needy! Beginning on Saturday, October 30th and every Saturday until November 20th, the Octagons will be at basketball practice to collect the canned foods! They will be delivering the baskets to needy families throughout the community on November 21st! Please share this with your children and have them bring in their canned foods and be a part of this time of giving!! It’s never too early to learn the beauty of community service!!!

OCO JR OPTIMIST “SAVE LIDS TO SAVE LIVES” CAMPAIGN

Our 7th and 8th grade community service group (Junior Optimists) are conducting a collection of Yoplait yogurt pink lids campaign to support the Susan G. Komen for the Cure (for breast cancer). Yoplait will donate 10 cents for every lid. They will be collecting the lids at practices through Sat., Dec. 11. Please see the attached flyer for more information. Your support for this great cause would be appreciated!

Jr. Optimists Book and school supply drive for VISIONS - (http://visionsforthefuture.org/)
VISIONS Supports educational initiatives for youth affected by poverty and conflict.

Please donate gently used children books and/or new school supplies for school children in the highly impoverished tribal areas of the Lower Palani Hills, Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, India.

There will be boxes in the gyms to drop off children books and new school supplies through December 11th.

School supplies needed: markers, crayons, colored paper, colored pencils, pencil sharpeners, rulers, erasers, calculators, glue, tape, rubber bands, paper clips, scissors, staplers, staples, pens, chalk, chalkboard erasers.

Children books only please. No encyclopedias or religious themes.

RALPHS COMMUNITY PARTNERS PROGRAM – you need to re-enroll every year!!

OCO has the opportunity to earn some funding through the Ralphs Community Partners Programs. It’s easy to do...by registering your Club Card and linking them to our organization, OCO will earn up to 4% of your eligible purchases.

Encourage your friends and family to register on-line as well!

These funds will be utilized to support the many youth programs

that OCO offers each year.

1. You’ll need your Ralphs REWARDS Card number (if you don’t have one, see the customer service desk at any Ralphs). For REWARDS card holders who can’t find their card and use their telephone number as their alternate ID when making purchases, look on your Ralphs receipt for your Card number.

2. After August 31, simply register online at www.ralphs.com (Ralphs wipes their system clean on August 31, requiring all individuals to re-link their card with their favorite organizations)

3. At the bottom of the home page, click on “School Programs,” located in the “Services” column

4. Click on “Community Contribution”

6. Under the Participant section, click on “ENROLL”

7. Follow the easy on-line directions to register your card number with our organization, number 91112.
